What I’ve been up to…

Well, I have been pretty MIA recently. Sorry to those few that read this blog.  Since I am so far behind, I am just going to put a bunch of pictures on here with captions.  Here goes nothing.

t

Tyler and I went fishing on the weekend of Easter.  Tyler got the first catch of the day.

f

This was just one of my catches.  He was a little booger.

y

I did end up catching the biggest fish that day.  I also got a sexy farmers’ tan.

p

A girl couldn’t ask for a better Saturday.

g

On Sunday, I decided to cut up the turkey.  Scary at first, but I did awesome job (me tooting my horn).

q

Last Tuesday, I got a new scholarship.  It was just a little one, and I had to go to two award ceremonies.

b

Last Friday, after a great dinner with dad, Manda, Macen, Tyler, and I drove out to the Blow Hole.

It this pretty cool place at the base of a lake’s dam.  The culvert pictured above shoots out water and air.

Me and my sis just a sittin’ on culvert.

Can you tell my pants’ legs are blowing in the air???

The hubby and I. :)

cx

I was trying to get a picture of my hair blowing.

z

Tyler thought he would help get me closer to the opening of the culvert.

I couldn’t let go of the culvert though because it was too scary.

a

Then, we had the smart idea to hike up the dam side and look at the other side.

s

Surprise! Surprise! It’s a lake!!!

v

Still made for a good picture and story.

I almost ended up rolling down the hill on the way down.

d

My sweet hubs is so SWEET.  He sent me this text one day while he was working.

I love that song!!

r

I took this picture the other day at school.  I was the first one to class and got a little bored and lonely.

In other news…

My baby sister had her senior prom last week.  Hopefully, I can get some of those pictures up soon.  She was absolutely beautiful!!!

School has been CRAZZZYYY!!!  I am counting down the days until summer.  I turned in 2 big projects on Wednesday.  I have a test tomorrow and probably the biggest project yet due on Tuesday.  Going to be a fun next couple days.

A Little Weekend Wrap-Up!!

So, I went home this past weekend for one main reason.  I was getting the chance to see my baby sister’s senior pictures.  I can’t believe she is old enough to have senior pictures!!!!!  After we had spent an hour and half picking out our favorites, I was in the mood for some fishing.  Manda and I got out our one fishing pole out and tried to find some worms.  Macen showed up with another pole;  we gathered up our worms and walked to the closest pond on dad’s land.  We spent about fifteen minutes there.  Manda spent most of the time trying to catch a giant tadpole.  Then, we walked to another pond.  Then, we gave up on fishing and walked down to the creek.  There we spent some time catching some rays.

On Sunday after church and lunch, I came back home to the Delph.  I had a friend invite me over for fried deer steak and turkey meat.  It was so yummy.  Before I left, my friend’s boyfriend fixed me a to go tubberware.  I had the leftovers today for lunch.  I think it was even better than the night before.  I almost chipped my tooth on this little find.  Wild game is so much to eat!! You never know whatcha gonna get!!!

2I got of school today at 3:30.  Then, I had some errands to run.  By the time I got home, a storm was a brewing.  When I got the last of the groceries upstairs, the sky broke loose.  For the past 2 hours, I have been sitting at the computer fixing some homework.  I am done.  I am bought to call it quits on being productive and finish watching the ACMs I recorded last night.

Monday’s over!!!

I’m Back With Pictures!!!

Oh, I have NO idea where to start!!! I feel so far behind on my blogging.  I don’t know what happened.  Well, I am just going to go back as far as I can remember, and that was way back to March 16th.

It was the Friday that started my spring break.  Boy, was it hectic!!!  I was running all over campus.  I went to my first class, and after class, I got offered a student worker position.  Of course, I said yes.  So, I had to go get the paperwork.  Then, I had Food’s lab.  A normal group has four, and I was in a group of two.  Fun, fun!!  Lab was over at 1:00, and I had to run to my next class to take a test.  Finally, I met up with Manda to go and get her prom dress.  We took off towards Jacksonville.  We were so lucky because the first dress she tried on was IT.  I was thrilled.  This is the only pic I have.  However, I will sooo have more after prom.22

Hmm…  What next?

Well, I am not sure if I have mentioned this or not, but Tyler and I finally broke down and bought bikes.  We got them to get into shape.  Most people try to take it easy when starting an exercise regimen, but not us.  Saturday morning, we got up took our bikes on a nice enjoyable LONG ride.  I am not sure exactly how long it was, but it was about 10 miles.  It took us 1 hour and half, and I was exhausted.

After I had recovered from that with nice fatty Mexican food, we helped Manda with some painting.  Manda and I had red paint head-to-toe when we finished.  I had also gained a sexy farmer’s tan.

I was glad we were outside for the weekend because it rained most of the rest of the week.  However, when it rains, it gives me an excuse to lay around, watch movies, and eat brownies.  I caught Manda and Ty sneaking brownie batter.photo 4photo 3

The best part of spring break was playing with my lil’ man.  Christopher is growing up so fast, and he is at the funnest age right now.  (I just noticed that Tyler is in almost every picture of C.  It doesn’t really look like I am hanging with him.)  234

Christopher got a trampoline, too.  His favorite thing to do was have Uncle Bubba lay underneath it and bounce him.  Very funny in person.57

Anyhoo…

One night during spring break, Tyler and I ran to Wal*Mart for something.  Somehow we ended up in the toy section, and Tyler found the superhero stuff.3344photo 1

One day during spring break, Tyler had to get up early and do some work.  He told me if I went with him he would get me some donuts.  How can a girl say no to donuts?1

I ended spring break with a campfire and s’mores.  It was a bitter-SWEET way to end it.  :) w

This is the last picture I took while I was officially on spring break.a

That concludes spring break.

Let’s talk about some food…

First off, this is a monster strawberry.  It wasn’t even the only one in the package like this.  Crazy?!?!?!cTyler and I had to get groceries after spring break.  Tyler was looking at some turkey burgers and we found this.  The label really confused us. sOther than all that, I have been busy.  I started working this week.  So, I have been running around trying to learn what to do.  C had surgery today, so I have been thinking about him all day and checking my phone for updates.  Everything went great, and he is at home resting.  I am so happy that tomorrow is Friday.  I am ready for a few days off.  Manda’s senior pictures will be ready for viewing on Saturday, so I have that to look forward to.

Have a good rest of your week!!!

Spring is Here in FULL Bloom

Last week, I went to Garvin Woodland Garden for the kick-off of AAFCS.  It was my first time at both the conference and the garden.  I couldn’t believe how many beautiful tulips were blooming.  They were all so beautiful.  The garden also has their own peacocks that roam around the entrance building.  These are just a few pictures I took with my phone.

1315141 2 3 4 5 6 7 8Weren’t those just some puuurrrttttyyy pics?  I thought so.

Back to the conference…

The annual Arkansas Affiliate of Family and Consumer Science conference was last Thursday and Friday.  Henderson was the host college.  I am a dietetics major, but for 2012, I am also the FCS/Dietetics club secretary.  Therefore, I felt like I should attend to show my support for our “little” club.  (<--- back to that later).  I actually enjoyed myself for those two days.  On Thursday, we spent our morning at the garden, where our hair expanded due to the humidity.  Then, we had lunch at a local restaurant.  There, we had our first guest speaker.  He talked for about 45 minutes about mental health in the workplace.  Me being me totally misunderstood the title and thought he would be discussing mental disabilities.  However, that was not what he was talking about at all.  My bad. :)

On Friday, we had guest speakers all day.  I really enjoyed all of them.  However, by the end of the day, I was getting a little squirmy and couldn’t really focus.  I was also very under dressed for the event.  When I walked in, I saw that everybody was wearing dress clothes, and I was in jeans.  Luckily, I was sitting most of the time.

I took this photo one day last week.  I thought it was funny because Tyler seriously couldn’t remember where he put his phone, and this is where we discovered it.

Last weekend, Tyler and I bought bikes.  We had been talking about it for about year, and we finally did it.  Boy, I had no idea how much work they would be.  When we got them home, we noticed that mine had a huge slice in the tire.  So, we took it back to Wal*Mart to get a new tire.  That was no big problem.  Then, when were replacing it, we discovered there was a hole in the tube.  So we had to go back to Wal*Mart to get a new one.  Finally, we got the bike together, and we set out on our first bike ride.  The weather was great.  Not long into the ride, I discovered just how out of shape I am.  But, that is going to change soon. :) We left the bikes in Mena for the week, and we have been regretting it greatly.  The weather has been amazing, and with the time change, it does not get dark at 5.

I want to leave my blog today with a Bible passage.  There are some families in my hometown that need our prayers.

“Be strong and courageous.  Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you.  He will not leave you or forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6

Tuesday Tidbits/Brain Dump

I can’t believe it’s only Tuesday.  This week is creeping by.  I feel like it should at least be Wednesday.

Anyhoo…

Last night, I went to a benefit concert for my friend’s friend.  She was raising money for her mission trip to Paris this summer.  I was a little nervous about going because I knew it was just a little concert, and I didn’t know anybody else there.  My friend encouraged me to come, and I am glad I went.  I spent two hours meeting new people and worshipping Jesus.  It was a great night.

Last night, I also made poppy seed muffins.  Boy, was that a mistake.  I have been scarfing those puppies down.

I know because of my career choice I am supposed to be a role model, but dietitians are human too.  :)

Did you know today is Oreo’s 100th anniversary?  I love me some Oreos especially some double stuffed and tall glass of cold milk.  Yum!!

I am excited to tell ya that me and some girls at school are planning a canoe trip in June.  We even talked about making it a weekend camping trip.  I don’t really see that happening, but I really plan on taking a day trip to float the river happen.

When I got home this afternoon, I changed into my lounging clothes and took a little nap.  Now I am still in the recliner and am fixing to start on some homework.

After reviewing this blog, I realized that it is such a brain dump, but sometimes I think that is what we need.

Now, on to my homework.  See ya’ll later.

A little bit of everything

Man, I am falling behind again.  Then again, I am falling behind in everything, and I haven’t even procrastinated that much.  I can’t believe it’s March.  Where did February go?  I mean, we even had an extra day, and I don’t know what happened to February.  One of the reasons I haven’t blogged much is because I haven’t had much going on besides school.  School is flying by and projects keep on coming.  Fun. Fun.

I have been keeping up with blogs though.  I was commenting on one a few weeks ago, and I thought this was hilarious.  photo3

One weekend in February, Tyler, his parents, and I went to Wolf Pen Gap to go four-wheeling.  It was a lot of fun.  We spent about 3 hours out there.  This first picture is funny to me because it looks like it had snowed.  I was just wearing my Eskimo hat to keep my ears warm.  I had to take it off when we would stop because it was way too warm.

Last week was a first for me.  I was not involved in FCCLA in high school.  I was an “ag” girl.  Anyways, I was asked to help judge the FCCLA Star Events.  I was really nervous about it, but it turned out to be a good day.  The worse part was waking up at 5 to get to the bus that was leaving at 6.  We had to be in Conway by 7:30.  When we were all loaded up and trying to be friendly.  I mean really 6 girls on a bus before the sun was up, need I say more.  No, really it wasn’t that bad.  :)  On our way home, I was sipping on a Dr. Pepper and I spilt it all over my lap.  Luckily, we weren’t stopping anywhere else.  So, it didn’t matter that my pants we were wet.  At the end of the day, I was given this certificate.photo 1

I am so excited that spring break is two weeks away.  I really need a break.  Although, I know I am going to spend some time prom dress shopping with my little sister.

I will try to get better about updating, but I guess I am just in a blogging rut.
