Sunday Stirrings

Well, it’s Sunday night.  I am sitting at the kitchen table sipping on some H2O.  I have been reading some old blogs tonight.  Oh, how they entertain me.  I love that I have the ability to revisit old memories.  After all, that is the purpose of this blog.  I don’t really have any stories to tell tonight, I just wanted to talk.  I could talk about the cruise (which I will very soon.) I could even talk about my new year’s goals (which I will probably never get around to.)  However, I feel like a blog about my random thoughts.

First of all,  Tyler and I stayed in Arkadelphia this weekend.  It was so nice to not have to pack a suitcase.  We did make a trip to Texarkana yesterday though.  We went and visited Tyler’s Uncle Mike and Aunt Sister.  They fried us up some fish and fries.  It was so delicious.  After lunch, we had some good ol’ table talk.  We sat at their kitchen table for about 5 hours just chattin’.  Good times!!  When we left their we went to a few furniture stores (Tyler wants a recliner), Bed Bath & Beyond, and Best Buy.  At BB&B, I had a gift card with a little spending change, so we bought myself a Turvis cup with a lid and Tyler a lid for his Turvis cup.  We also finally found some cappuccino for Ty’s Kuerig.

Today, Tyler and I have accomplished squat.  We watched a few movies, and I did some homework.  When I say I did some homework, I mean I did the bare minimum.  I could should be working on some more.  I have a 2-3 page philosophy due on Tuesday.  I still have yet to find my motivation for this semester.  I haven’t even found a routine.  Good news is, I am still getting plenty of shut eye.  :)

This week I start working unpaid at the preschool.  It is for my child development class.  (Don’t worry.  I haven’t changed majors; it’s just a class I have to have.)  I am going to be working with the 3 year old group.  I am extremely nervous because it is cold season.  That means snotty noses.  I am ABSOLUTELY not good with boogers.  If the kids stay healthy with nice clean noses, all will be grand.

Here’s a random thought for you.  Tyler wants a bunny.

I hope ya’ll have a great Monday!!

1 YEAR!!!!

Tyler and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary in Mena.  We spent New Year’s Eve at his parent’s house.  We celebrated the holiday by stuffing our faces and playing games. At midnight we watched the ball drop, toasted each other, drank our wine, and kissed our significant other.

I couldn’t believe it had been a year and what a year it was.

On that day we went to my dad’s house, where the cake had been awaiting our arrival.  We unwrapped it, and were surprised that it still looked the same.  At 4:30 (the time of our wedding) when we took our bites, we were surprised at how sweet it was.  It was like the sugar in it somehow got 10x sweeter.  However, the cake was still very good.

Christmas

I am hating myself just a little bit right now for not making notes or something.  I am having a little trouble remembering everything that happened around Christmas, but let’s see how I do...

This Christmas, I was in charge of making candy for Christmas Eve at my grandma’s.  I was so excited!!  I LOVE ME SOME SWEETS!!!!!  Not to toot my own horn, but I think my candy was a success.  We had an early celebration on Christmas Eve at grandma’s this year.  It was so nice to visit with family.  We spent a lot of time watching Donald’s little girl Morgan.  She was just a doll.  Shame on me for not getting any photos.

After lunch, Tyler and I went over to his house for Christmas Eve.  We watched Christopher open a mountain of gifts, and we also exchanged gifts with each other.  It was fun watching Christopher actually enjoy opening presents this year.

I didn’t take many photos the rest of the evening, and this is the only photo I got of me and Tyler.

We spent the night at his parent’s house.  Which allowed us to be there in the morning for brunch and stockings.  After we were full and had spent some more time with family, we went to my parent’s house.  We got there at about noon.  We started opening presents immediately.  Years ago, my mom decided that she wanted Christmas to last all day.  Therefore, she made the decision to only let us open presents 1 (sometimes 2) / hour.  It is so much fun but is sometimes torture.  Tyler got to experience this tradition for the first time this year.  I am not sure where he stands on it.  :)  I think we opened our last presents at about 7:00 that evening.  My mom also made a huge traditional Christmas dinner.  I am pretty sure I rolled away from the table.  Another tradition that my dad instated years ago was to watch It’s a Wonderful Life.  A great Christmas movie!!!

Overall, I had a great Christmas.  I had some new experiences because I made candy, and mostly because it was my Christmas as a married woman.  Tyler and I didn’t get each other anything this year to unwrap because we got each other cruise!!  (Stay tuned…)

Today has been a rainy blur.  I am glad to be home.  As soon as I made it to the apartment, I changed into my pjs and fuzzy socks.  I am currently making some “puppy chow.”

Happy Mid Week Ya’ll

Our Trip to Branson

Okay!! I am back again.  I have not been a great blogger for the last 2 1/2 months.  The other night I got distracted updating my blog look.  Before I knew it, it was my bed time.  However, my blog looks puuurrrty!!
Anyways, let me try and catch up.
Tyler, his family, and myself took a trip to Branson after finals in December.  It was a very enjoyable, much needed, quick vacay.
This is me and my man on the trip to Branson.

When the sun went down, we took a train ride around the park to see the lights.  It was so much fun.

It was an overall great time.

We spent the rest of the weekend shopping.  I mean how can you go wrong with that.  Like I said earlier, a great trip.
On another note…
I am trying to find a routine for this semester.  I just have not found it yet.  The majority of my classes are on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Therefore, I tend to think that I don’t have homework on those nights.  Then on Tuesday and Thursday nights I get freaked out because I forgot to do my homework.  Today I got my desk calendar out and filled in the blanks.  Maybe I will find a routine by midterms.
I joined the FCS/Dietetics Club back in September.  This is a very small club at school.  Anyways, today we picked new officers, and I am the new secretary.  I am pretty excited to have an important role in this club, and I hope I can do some good.
Happy Tuesday!!!

I’mmmm Back!!!

After a very long break from blogging, I am officially back.  I have tons to talk about including a trip to Branson, Christmas, New Years, one year Anniversary, and a Caribbean cruise.  I have tons of pictures to upload as well (but I am having some difficulty with my computer reading my SD card).  I can’t wait to get caught up.  Tomorrow is my first day back at school.  It is a little bitter sweet.  I am excited to start another semester because it means that I am one step closer to graduation.  :)  At the same I am not looking forward to tests and homework.
I spent today cleaning.  I did 6 loads of laundry today.  I have no idea how 2 people can have that much laundry.  I also accomplished some much needed cleaning.  I would say I have had a pretty productive day.
