Valentine’s Day 2012

I woke up yesterday bright-eyed and bushy tailed at 7:30 a.m.  I have this routine you see.  I get up every morning (and it doesn’t matter what time) and eat breakfast.  Well, since Tyler knows me pretty darn good, he put my beautifully wrapped present in the cabinet next to the cereal.  When I opened it up, I was so surprised.  Since Ty was still sleeping, I took it out of the cabinet and put it on the table.  I was thinking that he would see that I saw it and I would open it when I got home from school.  Then, I continued with the rest of my routine.  When I was getting ready to leave, I went into to the bedroom too kiss Ty good-bye.  He woke and told me to open the gift.  So I did, and it was a beautiful necklace.  I have seen the Open Heart collection from Kay and I really liked it.  Tyler got me an open heart necklace.  It is gorgeous!!!!

I realized that I am the farthest thing there is from being romantic.  I mean Tyler had planned ahead and got me a beautiful necklace and his gift was still sitting on the shelf at the store.  I knew what I wanted to get him.  I just hadn’t gotten it.  I am lucky to have a man that still loves me and is willing to overlook my flaws like procrastination. :)

I went to school, had a party, and came home.  When I got home Tyler said he wanted to go out for the holiday of love.  We loaded up and went to Hot Springs to eat at Chilli’s.  Before we left Caddo Valley, I already knew what I wanted for dessert.  Nothing new there.  :)   A big ol’ brownie sundae was calling my name and let me tell ya, it was absolutely delicious!!!  Afterwards, we came home and chilled.  It was nice and relaxing.

Overall, I had a pretty good day.  Tyler got sick in the middle of the night with the same 24hr bug that I had last week, so I have been trying to take care of him between classes and laundry.  Luckily, he is doing better this afternoon.

Happy Hump Day!!!

Snow Day!! :)

Today was the first day of winter.  Well, not really, but it was the first day that it has felt like winter.  I woke up this morning at about 6:30 from a HSU Alert text stating that school was cancelled.  I was thrilled!!! I went straight to my alarm clock and turned it off.  THEN, HSU sent me another text.  I reached over that time and turned my phone to vibrate.  This turned out to be a very wise decision because when I finally got up, I had 2 more texts.

Ty and I spent the first part of our day with the blinds cracked opened to enjoy the sight of snow.  We ate breakfast and caught up on The Mentalist.  Then, I decided to be a tad productive.  I cleaned our bedroom, bathroom, and did a load of dishes (but they are still in the dishwasher).  YAY ME!!  Then it was time for lunch.  I made lunch, then Ty and I watched Star Wars.  I want to see the episode I in 3D, but Ty won’t let me see it unless I have watched episodes IV, V, and VI.  We watched episode V today.

We finally got dressed at 5:00 and went to Wal*Mart.  We needed just a few items, so we thought we should go.  When we got home, we put up the groceries and I started my homework.  At about 8:00, we hit the lights and watched some good ol’ Monday night comedy.

On another note…

Big news for the Speer house.  We got a recliner!! Exciting, right?!?!?  When Ty and I moved into this apartment, all we moved in to sit on was the couch.  Well, we decided we needed something else.  Now, we have a wonderful handy-me-down that we are thankful to have.  I think Ty has pretty much been in it all day.  LOL.

Happy Monday night ya’ll!!!!

Cruising to Mexico!!!

As promised, this is all about my trip to Mexico.

We boarded the Carnival Conquest on Sunday, January 8, 2012.  Our port was in New Orleans.  It took us 2 days to make the drive, and we were so excited to be setting sail for a warm vacation.

On our way to board we passed by the Super Dome (not really sure if it is one word or if it should be capitalized).

This was Tyler and I on the boat.  We were just leaving port; which is why you can still see land behind us.

Our first sunset on the boat.  Yes, you can still see land.  We were traveling down the Mississippi River, and it took a long time.

The first two days of the cruise were days at sea.  We didn’t do much except enjoy the distance from land, eat, tan, eat, play mini-golf, and eat.  We got dressed up for a formal dinner as well.

After our fancy dinner, we went back to our room and changed into some more comfortable clothes for a comedy act.

We finally arrived in Jamaica.  Tyler had been to Jamaica in the past and was not impressed on his trip.  Since I had never been there, we decided to get off the boat walk, through the shops right by the boat, and get back on.  We were off the boat for maybe 30 minutes, and we didn’t even buy anything.

Instead, we spent the day enjoying the lack of people on the boat.  It was so nice to find a lounge chair easily and not fight people off in the pool.

The next day, we went to Grand Cayman.  Tyler and I wanted to go snorkeling, so we did.  It was amazing!!! The water was crystal blue and the coral reef was really neat.  I loved seeing all of the fish and sea creatures.

We also ate at a pretty expensive restaurant.  When I say expensive, I mean it cost us $20 to share an appetizer with 2 cans of coke.  We quickly learned that an American dollar wouldn’t get you far.  Then, it was time for another fancy dinner night on the boat.

Our final destination was Cozumel.  I love this place.  Here, Ty and I went on a zipline adventure.  It was absolutely amazing.  The second part of our adventure was to go to a resort.  We went, but we didn’t stay long because it started raining.  We spent the rest of this trip shopping and stuffing our faces at the Three Amigos.  It was excellent food!!!

P1020141P1020132P1020150P1020149P1020153P1020156On the last day, I was tired of carrying my camera, so I didn’t.  I do regret it now.  On the last day aboard the boat, I won a trophy playing their version of minute to win it.  I had to blow up and tie 8 balloons.  I guess I am just full of hot air because I had no problem with this challenge.  My father-in-law one a medallion on the last night too.  He played a game with 7 other people.  They were broke up into teams of 4.  He had to take a spoon put it down his shirt and pants and pass it off to the next person.  It was hilarious!!!

I know Tyler and I had just gone a cruise for our honeymoon, but we don’t regret going on this cruise too. It was an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING TRIP!!!!!!!
