This week I have done nothing but study, test, study, test, x 6…
I just wanted to take a minute and relax so that my head doesn’t blow up.
This week I have done nothing but study, test, study, test, x 6…
I just wanted to take a minute and relax so that my head doesn’t blow up.
It is about 6:30 and I am back in Arkadelphia. I am actually procrastinating studying for a test. I am so dreading this week. I have a test in every class. YUCK! YUCK! (Side note… If I don’t blog a lot this week these tests are the reason.) This weekend I got to see my mom. I hadn’t seen her since May and even then I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with her. She has been over seas working and I am so happy that she is back on US territory. Friday night she made like four huge homemade pizzas that we all ate on all weekend. They were really good though. Saturday I spent the day with my mom watching movies. Manda drove me to town in the morning so that I could do some errands. Today I went to church, then Papa’s, and then to Tyler’s. While at Tyler’s we watched some football and I got to see Christopher for a short amount of time. I brought Daisy back home and I am happy to have her here. It was a very quiet weekend but enjoyable. I guess I better hit the books now. :(
I have had a pretty good week but it has been pretty uneventful so I haven’t had anything to really blog about. Well today is Friday and I am heading to Mena this evening. I will probably be heading to Mena for the next few weekends for some birthdays that are coming up. Fall started this week and along with that so did my favorite shows. This week I watched the series premieres of How I Met Your Mother, Rules of Engagement, Two and a Half Men, Glee, Big Bang Theory, and Grey’s Anatomy. I am really looking forward to this weekend but not this upcoming week. Next week I have a test in every single class through out the entire week. I would actually like to get all of them over at the beginning of the week and not worry about them later. I also have two different projects due in two of classes. I am working on my procrastination so I have actually started on one of them and am half way finished. Go me!!!! It also helps that I have nothing to do during the day. I think I am out of things to talk about so I am going to go. Bye.
I have nothing to discuss today so I decided to have a dedication day. I have also decided that randomly I will start posting about somebody who has influenced me or had an impact in my life. They will not be in order of favorites but just who comes to mind that day.
Today is about Tyler…
He is my best friend and fiancé. He has been here for me through thick and thin. We have had our ups and downs but always work it out in the end. He is always around to wipe the tears from my eyes and turn ALL my frowns upside down. He is my rock and without him I would be lonely. He has always encouraged me to fight for my dreams. He means the world to me and he is my partner in crime. Thank you for everything babe. I love you.
I have been renting an apartment since the end of August and I am still not completely moved in. However I wanted to blog about my work-in-process.

To my dad, I keep the living room and kitchen tidy but my bedroom stays a little cluttered just like when I lived with you. It makes it homey.
I had a great weekend. The first thing I did was co-host a shower for my good friend Melody. She had a nice shower. The cake was delicious and I think she really hit it big in the present department. I can’t wait to meet her beautiful baby boy Kameron in October.
Immediately after the shower, I headed to Texarkana with my handsome man Tyler. There we met up with his dad’s side of the family and had an awesome dinner at Olive Garden. Yummy. Following dinner, Tyler and I went to the mall and bought him an Otterbox for his phone and we finished birthday shopping for his sister. (Our sisters share the same birthday on October 4th and I have already got everything for my sister.) On Sunday we visited with the Weiss family. We hadn’t really seen them in a while and it was nice to chitchat again. I spent most of the evening playing with my little man (nephew) Christopher. He is getting so big and I really miss him. Stephanie made breakfast for dinner and it was yummy. Then I settled in and finished my homework. I left Daisy behind this week and it has only been like half a day and miss her terribly. My family was in Shawnee this weekend at a big barrel race. If I could have seen them this would have been a perfect weekend.
First of all, my sociology teacher (the one that hardly speaks English) gave our class a 100 point assignment. The assignment is to find 5 people who have been in an abusive relationship and have them complete a questionnaire. This questionnaire is easily 120 questions long and can get pretty detailed. (Ex. Did your partner threaten you with a gun or a knife? Where did the abuse occur? What was the duration of involvement?) I find this assignment very inappropriate for a freshman oriented class. (I know I am not a freshman but I needed the class for my degree.) How are untrained college students supposed to bring this topic up in conversation? How are we supposed to find 5 people by Thursday that have been in this kind of relationship? If we are able to find them, how do we leave, just thanks, bye, best of luck with that? This topic is very touchy for many individuals and the ones who have experienced it probably wouldn’t want to talk about it. The predicament is how do I find these people and will they tell me the truth? (It is or can be an anonymous questionnaire.) Should I just find friends to take the questionnaire for me? (how do I really know they haven’t been abused?) Honestly, I am starting to think about it.
Secondly, I have an ethics teacher who encourages class participation. I don't understand the class most of the time but I when I think I might have an opinion I speak. Today most recently, I spoke my opinion and he made fun of it. He never came out and said it was stupid but he found the stupidity within it. He has totally ruined my enthusiasm for the class and I have started finding myself doodling more and more. If the teacher asks for your thoughts why mock their answers?
On another note, I am back in Mena for the weekend. I am soooo excited to spend time with my family or at least half of it. Tomorrow I am helping with a baby shower and then hopefully on my way to Texarkana for some good 'ole family fun and food. Along with all that fun, I have to find time for a journal entry due on Monday at 10 for my English class. I have already completed 2 for this class and both have taken me approximately 2-2 1/2 hrs. This English class has a lot of reading and writing but is quickly turning into a favorite class.
Today I made a diaper cake for my good friend Melody. She is having a little boy at the end of October and this coming weekend I am co-hosting her baby shower. I decided to make her a diaper cake as my gift to her. This is my second cake. The first one I made for Stephanie when she was pregnant with my little man Christopher. I learned a lot from that cake experience and I think I improved on this second cake. I have decided to make a recipe for all who want to take on the challenge at their next shower.

Directions
The first thing you need to do is gather your supplies
Next, you need to tape your 2 8 oz bottles together.
After that is completed, the fun begins. You will need 35 diapers for the bottom layer, 20 for the middle, and 10 for the top. Start with the bottom layer by wrapping one diaper at a time around the bottles then tape. (You will be using a lot tape, my advice is to tear off your strips and put them on the table for easy access.) You continue this till you have used all the diapers for each layer.
The next step is to glue the ribbon on. (To keep the diapers usable try to avoid gluing directly on the diapers. You can use a piece tape where ever needed.) I used multiple colors and ribbon but this is not necessary.
After you have finished gluing the ribbon on, it is now safe to put on your accessories. This is where you get to have fun and be creative. The very last step is making a base for your cake. I took a rectangular poster board that was thick and wrapped it in a baby wrapping paper. This is my finished project.
These are some pictures of my little dog Daisy.
Recently Daisy and I have moved to Arkadelphia where we have an apartment. Naturally, I take her out to potty several times a day. (Something I failed to mention earlier is that Daisy is friendly to all humans but HATES other dogs.) Up ‘till today we have not ran into any other dogs on potty breaks. Today on our lovely stroll up the apartment drive (still waiting for Daisy to do her duty) I hear coming from the apartment to our left, “Time to go potty. Come on let’s go.” Knowing Daisy’s style I rush her down the drive but not fast enough. Daisy is on a harness and leash but this big black lab mix comes running down the apartment stairs right towards us. Like a good momma, I put myself in between them stupidly while they are growling and the hair on their back standing. Luckily, the female owner of the black dog came down the stairs and the black dog ran off in fear. So as Daisy and I walk away (no bruises or broken bones) the male owner yells at me from his balcony, “You got a Killer there.” So long story short, apparently my little Daisy is a Killer. Who knew?
On another note, my day consisted of nothing but school. Sociology to be exact. I really hate dislike this class. I had a test today and hopefully I passed. I CAN NOT understand my teacher, so therefore, I have to teach my self. My major is nursing NOT teaching.
I am a brand new blogger. I am a nursing student with about 3 years left and already about 2 and 1/2 behind me. I am engaged to Tyler. We have been together forever…5 years and 7 months. We have no wedding date but hopefully soon. Along with being a student and a fiancĂ©, I am also a daughter, granddaughter, sister, friend, and an awesome aunt (well at least I think so) . I put this blog together to journal my thoughts, ideas, stories, and my life. I hope to look back on this someday and remember the good ‘ole years. Your comments are always welcome.
